Bodrum Adventure IV

Bella and PawPaw left yesterday and we spent that day and today at Gumbet Beach.  Everyone on the beach fell in love with Lev, no surprise.  One grandpa offered his 4-year-old granddaughter for marriage.

Lev adored Gumbet because it is very shallow and calm--more like a pool than the ocean.  The sand is soft and there are a lot of people to make friends with.  He spent a lot of time in the water, smiling, splashing, kicking, and laughing.

Attack of the Baba Monster

After a full day of swimming, we had a snack under the shade.  Lev was stylish in his terry poncho.

Ba'anne has been cooking up a storm these past two weeks.  It has been interesting to see what Lev will and, mostly, won't eat.  One day he devours green beans and the next he won't touch them.  But cheese toast has been a steady favorite and we recently added kofte to the menu.  Ba'anne made some delicious kofte that Baba and Anne fought Lev for.  Lev ate 4 whole pieces!  The accompanying rice, though, was not well received.  Anne had a sneaky chef moment and created "uzum dolmasi," stuffing rice into sliced grapes from Dede's vine.  Down the hatch by the dozen :)

We're heading to Istanbul the day after tomorrow and home the day after that.  Exhaused, tanned, and fattened up.
